Season- Fall Weather- Breezey, somewhat cold during the night, bleak.
11-30-06 I'm sorry to say, but I've just been informed that due to several reasons, a few of which include vacationing, school, and my step-mom traveling across the continent, I will be gone for the entire month of December, and then at least several more weeks after that.
Had I known about these events beforehand, then I never would've started the site in the first place.
So we'll be closing, I'm afraid to say. I really wanted to make this work, but I can't if I won't even have access to a computer. Sorry guys.

Trading Post This is where humans exchange goods and foods. There is a variety of delectable foods to be found here, but only if they can be given, or stolen. This is a good food source for loner strays, but don't try to get too thingyy. While dogs are tolerated, it isn't wise to test the patience of the market owners too far.

Town Square This is where the major hustle and bustle of human life is located. The shops and stores that form a perimeter around the market are off-limits to dogs, and angry shopkeepers won't hesitate to chase away, and sometimes even injure any hungry stray that sneaks into their store. Pet dogs are sometimes tied up outside of these stores waiting for their masters, but the strays generally come and go as they please, feeding off of scraps and stealing what they can.
Abandoned Building (2 sub-boards) This shabby old building used to be some kind of carpenter store until the owner died. The windows are boarded up, save for one that is broken out by thieves. The place is empty except for a few pieces of old furniture and figurines. In the back there's a door barely hanging off of its hinges, opening into a staircase that leads onto the roof.

Saloon Cellar Chatter and music from upstairs always filters down into the concrete basement beneath the local saloon. The cellar is dark and somewhat scary, and has a constant musky scent within, but at least it's dry. The floors are filthy and rats infest the cracks and holes along the walls. There is a long staircase leading to the saloon, but the door is always locked and off-limits to dogs. The outside door leading into the cellar is always open, for the lock on it rusted and broke long ago.

Broken Arrow Lake The lake is located at the extreme fringes of the town, and is the final destination of the White River. The settled water isn't much a drinking spot for humans, and the lake freezes near solid during the winter. This is a popular place for humans to fish, and it's also a hot spot for canines and other animals to meet on the grassy shores. The water is cool and murky, and several kinds fish, frogs, turtles, waterfowl, and many other species make home in the cool lake.
Pikes Peak (4 sub-boards) The dangerous landscape threatens the lives of all who come through here. However, all residents that have moved to Burnside have crossed over the mountain. Pikes Peak is characterized by a dense forest along its slopes, the gold mine at its base, the treeless deserted summit, and as the main source of the entire town of Burnside. The White River runs over the river, providing a fresh water source for all of Burnside's residents. There are many predators roaming the mountainside, including bears, coyotes, cougars, and even wolves.
Sickle Canyon A lush canyon, named after it's crescent shape, full of life and promise. During the dry season the small river that runs along the bottom becomes swampy and difficult to navigate, but all in all the terrain is peaceful. Some areas are incredibly rocky, while others are covered in rich soil and prospering vegetation in this land of diversity. The dogs who have claimed this territory as their own boast a riparian lifestyle and diet. Prey animals range from the fish in the water, to the lizards, and all the way up to the big horn sheep and the young mule deer that travel the area, if the hunting party is strong enough.
